The Canon AE-1 (Program) is by far the camera that has had the most impact on my life. Not that there's anything particularly extraordinary about this classic film SLR, aside from its affordability, availability and reliability – ok, I guess that makes it a little special.Over the years it's a camera that I've come back to again and again as a means to hit reset, and recontextualize my love for p

Old and new: The Canon PowerShot G3 and the PowerShot G1 X Mark II.This article was originally published in 2017 as part of our 'Throwback Thursday' series. It's hard to believe that the Canon G-series is almost 17 years old, and while technology has certainly marched forward, 'G cameras' have consistently been a favorite of enthusiasts and even pros. This article was originally published in 2017 as part of our 'Throwback Thursday' series.A few months ago I wrote a short article about the Canon EOS D30. In an album at my parents' house there's a photo of me holding my dad's camera at an embarrassingly awkward age in my childhood – or maybe I was just way ahead of the big, nerdy glasses trend? I remember the afternoon it was taken. My dad and I went for a walk in the park near our house and he showed me how to use his Nikon FT3.I was hesitant – pushing the shutter felt like an enormous responsibi

One of the most unintentionally useful influences on my photography has turned out to be the time I’ve spent playing computer games. Some photographers use cinema as a learning tool to observe the way cinematographers and DOP’s use their cameras to capture a scene. This can be a great source of inspiration, but I think it can lead to some photographers heading out and seeking to recreate shots or is a social bookmarking place where you can share, find & discuss the best news around on most topics. We focus on hi-tech reviews, gadgets and geekery but we like almost anything that's awesome, appealing and thought-provoking! er6i9ds5mz
